When do I need to lodge my tax return?

For individuals who currently self-lodge their tax returns, the due date for lodgement is 31st of October for each financial year.

If you are a current client of Heffernan Crawford Partners(HCP), there is an extension of this lodgement date. These dates vary from December to May for the particular financial year.

You can contact our office to find out your due date for lodgement or to find out how to be added to the HCP's Lodgement Programme.

Effective from 2002, all taxpayers can receive financial penalties for failure to lodge tax returns on time, including prior years.

Where can I find my tax file number?

On the top right hand corner of your tax return, or Notice of Assessment.

What do I need to bring for my tax appointment ?

A summary of all your deductions is a start. We do not need to see all the receipts. Please see the HCP Questionnaire for further information.

How long until I receive my Notice of Assessment (NoA)?

Once you have completed your tax return and have signed the appropriate documents, your tax return is lodged electronically with the Australian Taxation Office. Once it is fully processed you should have the NoA in approximately 14 * working days.

*Please note that delays can occur due to varying workloads.
